The search for the best student jobs
In four years of college, I worked eight student jobs. I was a waitress in a café and a seafood restaurant; a sandwich maker/barista; a tour guide; a lifeguard; a warehouse picker and packer; a telemarketer and a lab assistant. Whew. I didn’t enjoy every one of these jobs – I only lasted two hours as a telemarketer – but I learned lessons about responsibility and work relationships that helped me in every other job I’ve had.
Are you looking for a student job this semester? Don’t take the first campus job you find. Put some thought into it and see if you can find a student job that has some solid perks, or one that will give you great experience on your resume.
